Umair Hamid, MD


Umair Hamid, MD is a neurologist at Riverhills Neuroscience. His medical training includes experience in general neurology, neurocritical care, stroke care, and the management of complex neurological conditions.

Before joining Riverhills Neuroscience, Dr. Hamid trained as a neurocritical care fellow at Cleveland Clinic. He completed his neurology residency at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center and the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria, where he also served as chief resident.

Dr. Hamid earned his medical degree from Fatima Memorial College of Medicine and Dentistry in Lahore, Pakistan. He has contributed to neurological research, peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and presentations covering topics such as epilepsy, stroke, neurocritical care, migraine, myelitis, and neurological complications of medical conditions.

His professional recognition includes Outstanding Resident of the Year, an American Academy of Neurology Resident Scholarship, and Resident Teacher of the Year. Outside of medicine, Dr. Hamid enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, playing soccer, and following FC Barcelona.

Dr. Hamid is fluent in English, Urdu, and Punjabi, and has a functional knowledge of Arabic.
