The specially trained spine physicians at Riverhills Neuroscience offer comprehensive diagnosis and state-of-the-art spine treatment. Working as a team allows us to serve patients in an efficient and compassionate manner while providing individualized clinical care. Regardless of whether a patient suffers with limiting problems of the neck, low back, or mid back (often with associated pain, tingling, and/or weakness into the arms or legs), our Spine Care physicians will be able to provide treatment options ranging from conservative interventions (such as non-surgical spinal decompression, interventional pain management, or spine rehabilitation) to some of the most contemporary spinal stabilization procedures, minimally invasive techniques, or the most advanced surgical procedures.
Riverhills Neuroscience is the premier provider of comprehensive and integrated Spine Care, offering a suite of specialized services including Diagnostics, Interventional Pain Management, Neurosurgery, and Rehabilitation.
Accurate diagnosis allows the most appropriate form of care to be implemented at the earliest possible time–thus increasing the chance for an optimal outcome.
Each of the physicians in our Spine Care Center is Board Certified in their individual discipline. They can either directly provide, or make recommendations for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCV), diagnostic spinal injections, or any other of the diagnostic procedures offered by our practice. Offering these services “in house” allows us to obtain results expediently and to directly collaborate with the testing physician.
Providing added support to our Spine Center are 12 neurologists, each with extensive experience in the evaluation of spinal disorders. Our specialty trained physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and medical assistants, some of the most experienced in the region, also work to ensure that the care our patients receive is as seamless as possible.
Riverhills Neuroscience physicians have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions. The goal of Interventional Pain Management is to relieve, reduce, or manage pain and improve a patient’s overall quality of life through minimally invasive techniques.
Interventional Pain Management strives to help patients return to their everyday activities quickly and without heavy reliance on medications. Some of the more commonly treated conditions include post-surgical procedures, malignancy, trauma, ongoing low back, neck and shoulder pain, stroke and major systemic disease, such as diabetes, muscle and/or bone pain, and ongoing head, neck, mouth and face pain.
The neurosurgeons at Riverhills Neuroscience are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat a variety of spine conditions and offer many cutting edge treatments. When surgery is determined as the most appropriate solution, patients can be assured the surgeons at Riverhills Neuroscience are well versed in the most current neurosurgical procedures and technological advancements.
Riverhills Neuroscience is a unique practice in its ability to provide a comprehensive range of Spine Care services to support Neurosurgery, including Interventional Pain Management and Post-Operative Rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation is the use of exercises, modalities, and manual techniques to help develop, restore, and/or maintain appropriate strength of tissues and alignment of body parts, thereby allowing patients to move correctly and with less pain. Rehabilitation looks not only at the affected body part but how that disability impacts the rest of the patient’s life and functional activity. Proper rehabilitation is essential for achieving optimum recovery and physical performance after spine surgery.
It is our belief that post-surgical care goes beyond pain relief and we strive to achieve optimal spinal function through retraining of postural awareness, muscle activation patterns, improving flexibility and the overcoming of fear avoidance behaviors that are not uncommonly seen in post operative patients.
Our rehabilitation specialists work closely with the entire team of spine care physicians to develop custom rehabilitation protocols tailored for each patient’s specific surgical procedure. Post-operative rehabilitation enhances recovery, facilitating an earlier and safer return to occupational and recreational activities.
