Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Our PM&R specialists aim to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical injuries, impairments, or disabilities. Riverhills Neuroscience physicians work to restore optimal function in patients with injuries to the muscles, bones, tissues, and nervous system.
When possible, non-surgical care is performed before consideration of spine surgery. Non-invasive measures such as physical therapy (including exercise and traction), anti inflammatory drugs, injections, and medicine to reduce pain may be used. Early use of non-surgical spine care can speed up the healing process. Riverhills offers specialized care in spine rehabilitation.
Our rehabilitation department works closely with the entire team of physicians to develop custom rehabilitation protocols tailored for each patient’s specific surgical procedure. Post-operative rehabilitation enhances recovery, facilitating an earlier and safer return to occupational and recreational activities.
